Young Shakespeare Players

The Young Shakespeare Players is an educational theatre company that produces uncut plays by Shakespeare and George Bernard Shaw with performers between the ages of 7 and 18.

I began assistant directing with the Young Shakespeare Players in 2011 after starting there as an actor in Macbeth in 2006. I was the lead director of 7 productions, starting in 2013 with Richard II, and as an adult I kept a close bond with the company, directing full-length productions and organizing outreach events.

During my time at YSP I directed over 200 young people and adults from a variety of backgrounds, and provided a supportive and challenging environment for developing minds. As a director I led voice, movement, and text analysis workshops, with a focus on building confidence and creative ownership.
